Try That on For Size

This is a warm up that tests the players ability to come up with justifications for a mime action. The leader will endow a player with a simple mime action like “brushing teeth.” This warm up is like high jumping it will always end in failure. As with most warm ups the goal is to fail with grace and laughter.

Become

Become is Yes Let’s with deeper and deeper expansion. The leader will call out for the players to undertake some mime character. An inanimate object is recommended. For example, everyone become a tree. Once each player has assumed their mimed tree the leader will expand on the details of the noun. It is important for the leader to expand the description in a stepwise fashion that allows the player to respond in a stepwise fashion.

One player will step forward from the line of players and mime a door. The first player should be encouraged to create a rather mundane mime-object door. Other players must listen intently to this mime door, for they all will be required to pass through it.
