Facebook and Improv

By | February 24, 2019

Facebook is not your friend. The business model is based on theft of your hard earned property and protected information. For all us struggling improv groups out there the most egregious is Facebook’s theft of our hard earned followers.

How does this work? As an example our little improv group has about 2400 likes and followers. If we want to let them know about our next fabulous workshop FB will only connect with 200 of them. To get more you have to pay. Who built this list? We did. It’s not cheap either.

An email list is your friend. While there are many more ways to mess up an email list than can possibly be imagined at least it is not held hostage and you get to mismanage it yourself.

There is a bright light on Facebook that every improviser should check out.
